Equivalence Study to Investigate Particulate Matter Monitoring in Scotland Using the Fidas 200

This Study investigates the relationship between automatic particulate matter (PM₁₀ and PM_2.5, collectively referred to as PM) measurement techniques used in Scotland and the EU reference method. This study is a review of PM₁₀ and PM_2.5 data collected between January 2020 and June 2022 and builds on the results from the pilot project by strengthening the monitoring methodology to more closely follow BS EN 16450. The primary change was the introduction of duplicate reference MPNS and Fidas 200 (Method 11) automatic instruments in line with BS EN 16450, providing a more robust dataset for identifying whether it would be appropriate to apply correction factors to PM₁₀ and PM_2.5 Fidas data within the SAQD.
